" (...)The flutist whose name has been associated with so many other names in jazz (and here I am thinking in particular of Jean Jacques Avenel who was his double bassist) has yet managed a master stroke. Indeed, he improvised and composed around parts of a progressive seventies British rock band, Henry Cow, founded by Fred Frith and Tim Hodgkinson. (...). Brilliant concert of collective intelligence and audacity, ended by a call back demanded by a conquered public!

Henry Cow, Art Bears, Slapp Happy (Tim Hodgkinson's Fred Frith, John Greaves, Chris Cutler, Dagmar Krause, Peter Blegvad, Anthony Moore, Lindsay Cooper, Robert Wyatt, Geoff Leigh, Anthony Moore ... etc) were among those who created the "Canterbury" style in the 70s.

Our intention is not to reproduce the "Canterbury - alternative rock" music of this time or to sink in a not relevante "revival" .

To reintroduce this music in a certain contemporaneity, we have taken some of the thematic elements of Henry Cow and his Avatar Art Bears, we have adapted them to the instrumentation of our quintet and accompanied by additional music introducing, accompanying or concluding these original references.

Finally, structures and arrangements to serve our aesthetic orientation, leave each musician wide possibilities of improvisation.
